Hello All, It's that time again to update you on what's new on my website and what's coming up in the future. The "Snowbird" season is starting to dwindle down and will soon be coming to an end. Between getting the website up and running as well as keeping it updated, teaching nearly 6 days a week and producing a total of 36 instructional painting packets, we've hardly had time to even think. For Tina and I, it will be a welcomed rest after such a busy season but we don't plan to just sit around and do nothing. Plans are in the works for lots of new and exciting ideas to share with you in the months to come. Until then, my lips are sealed ! For those of you that travel north over the summer months and change your e-mail address, please be sure to "subscribe" your new email address so that you don't miss out on the newsletter information. Also, don't stop painting just because you're up north. Be sure to check out the News and Notices for the solution. Art Quote of the Month: "Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life." Pablo Picasso ---------------------------------------------------------- ABOUT THE CALENDAR: My April calendar is now up and running along with my March calendar. As most of you know, my calendar is "printable" for those wanting a hard copy to carry with them or post on their fridge. ----------------------------------------------------------
In The Spotlight - This month, the spotlight shines brightly on a very special lady.....( read more ) ---------------------------------------------------------- COMING SOON: My son is presently looking into Pay Pal, an instant payment method for purchases you make from my website for things such as painting packets, videos and even for Gift Certificates. These best thing about Pay Pal is that it's a FREE service to you the consumer and they will give you a $5.00 credit, just for signing up. You could even apply that credit towards a painting packet if you wanted. That's like getting a single packet FREE.......compliments of Pay Pal. ---------------------------------------------------------- INTERESTING "ART-I-FACT" OF THE MONTH: OIL PAINTINGS GAIN WEIGH JUST LIKE PEOPLE DO. It's true ! Oil paintings, just like the rest of us, gain weight by as much as 30% as they age. This item falls more into the category of fun knowledge with which you can impress all you friends and relatives. As most of you know, oil color dries by means of oxidation but it's interesting to note that, depending upon a number of variables, oxygen may be incorporated into the oil film at a rate of 28%, by weight before the paintings completely dry. Talk about "fat over lean !" So, should we be worried about the walls that display our paintings collapsing as the paintings fatten up ? I don't think we're in any imminent danger. Fat chance of that happening but I'll keep you posted if anything comes down. ---------------------------------------------------------- Well, I guess that about does it for this newsletter. I hope you enjoyed it and will now go visit my website to get all the "inside scoops" on the News and Notices and check out all the April classes you want to sign-up for. If you have any topics or ideas that you would like to see featured in future newsletters or on my website, please let me know. I love hearing your feedback or your thoughts about it. Thank you for your time, Always,"Painting for Pleasure", with Tony and Tina Carchia ---------------------------------------------------------- |
