News Letter #1 - Jan/Feb, 2002 |
|
Hello Everyone, I would like to start off my first newsletter by thanking all of you who have joined the list. ABOUT THE CALENDAR: So, "What's new !", you might be asking. For one, my February Calendar is now online along with my January calendar. A few of you wrote me asking earlier this month asking for the February calendar to be posted a month ahead of time (at beginning of January). Well I wish I could do that but there are two reasons why I can't do that. One is, if I was to put out both January and February calendars at the same time, some people would be calling the stores to sign up for classes the store has no information on causing major confusion. I always bring in the paintings a month in advance along with the sign up sheet. The second reason is that sometimes I don't have or know myself what the next painting will be until it gets close to that time. I will try to improve upon and maybe resolve this. After February, you will no longer be getting the usual "postal mail out" calendar because you can get far more news and information about my schedule and paintings online through my website. If you haven't completely looked into my website then I ask that you please do. It is constantly being upgraded with many new things being added or changed. My monthly class calendar is "printable" and has special features to help you see even more. Bring up either of the calendars on your screen. Move the cursor over the calendar and select (click on) a date of the class(es) that you might be interested in. A new window will "pop-up" that will display a photo of the painting being taught that day along with a description of the painting, the location, type of class (workshop or mini) and time of class. There is also a "clickable" link for directions on how to get to the class. Classes only open to the public will be displayed in this manner. If you would like to continue receiving my printed class schedule by "snail mail" then please let me know and I will continue to send you one. ---------------------------------------------------------- NEWS AND NOTICES: I have added a "News and Notices" section right on the front page of my website. It is my intention to keep this news section updated on a regular basis, so keep your eyes open and stay tuned in regularly for important news and announcements. Current News Items:
---------------------------------------------------------- COMING SOON: As some of you know, I've been taking some digital photos while in class and I hope to soon display a "Class Photos" section which will have photos of classes in progress at many of the places I'm teaching at. So, again, be on the look out for this new section. Also, I hope to be adding a few more pages to my website with some information about Demonstrations, Presentations, Gift Certificates and Private Lessons. So check back often. ---------------------------------------------------------- INTERESTING "ART-I-FACT" OF THE MONTH: Question: How many camels does it take to make a camel-hair brush ? Answer: None ! The camel hair brush is the art material equivalent of a tossed salad. It is usually a mix of ox, pony, and squirrel. Some camel-hair brushes hold a good load of watercolor (hence the name....camel) ---------------------------------------------------------- Well, that about does it for this month's news letter. I love feedback so please let me know if you have topics or ideas that you would like to see featured in future newsletters. Thank you for your time, Always,"Painting for Pleasure", with Tony and Tina Carchia ---------------------------------------------------------- |
